Supervision is one of the most important tools for ensuring that staff deliver high-quality services to clients, tenants, and other stakeholders.
At its core, supervision is the regular and purposeful meeting between a line manager and an employee to review work, provide guidance, and support professional development.
But effective supervision goes beyond workload management and performance reviews – it is about creating opportunities for reflection, learning, and growth.
Within Psychologically Informed Environments (PIE), reflective supervision plays a central role. PIE recognises the impact of relationships, environments, and staff wellbeing on service delivery. By providing regular, structured opportunities for staff to reflect on their practice, managers create the conditions for safe, thoughtful, and trauma-informed decision-making. This is especially important when working with clients with complex or multiple needs, but also supports the well-being, resilience and professional development of staff.
This interactive two-day course will equip managers with the tools, knowledge, and confidence to deliver supervision that is supportive, reflective, and goal focused. Participants will explore practical models, coaching approaches, and strategies that strengthen both individual staff development and wider organisational effectiveness.
Please note: This course focuses on management supervision (1:1), not clinical supervision.
