This season’s big Universal Credit news is the speeding up of the Managed Migration process – approximately 63,000 notices are being sent out each week, so it’s very likely that some of your clients are being affected.

There have been some changes to the support offered to the most vulnerable of these legacy benefit claimants, which you need to know about.

We will also look at the application of the benefit cap, which is already causing problems for UC claimants paying high rents.

All this will be supported by the most up to date resources and websites, and of course, some case study discussions and calculations.

In particular, we will look at:

  • Managed Migration acceleration and legacy benefit closures
  • Supporting people on ESA as they face the move to UC
  • Transitional protection: dark arts and complications
  • The benefit cap: who is affected and how to avoid it
  • News and rumours about changes for PIP and the Work Capability Assessment
  • The 25-26 benefit rates

Who should attend?

This course is suitable for anyone reasonably familiar with UC who needs to be confident that their knowledge is up to date.

It will not be suitable for people who are brand new to Universal Credit, or people who do specialist benefits casework.

This half-day course will be delivered on 17 July 2025 (am).  Please note, this online course will not be recorded.
