This two-day course aims to enhance your skills and understanding of group work, increase awareness of the potential benefits, and will reflect on your own behaviour as both a group member and a group facilitator.

The course is an experiential day and will explore the foundational use of different models of group processes and group dynamics and will identify ways of creating a safe and trusting environment.

By the end of the course, you will feel confident in applying a variety of facilitation skills, techniques, and approaches to ensure group work is effective, safe and creative.

This course will support you to: 

  • Understand group processes and dynamics
  • Identify your personal facilitation style and its impact on group work
  • Examine the different roles people take in groups
  • Create a safe and trusting environment for group work
  • Apply strategies to effectively manage difficult situations, including conflict
  • Understand the benefits and limitations of co-facilitation

Suitable for anyone wishing to develop their understanding of group work.

This two-day course will be taking place online on 2 & 3 March 2026.

Attendance on both days is required. This online session will not be recorded.

 

The way this Group Work training was facilitated reflected the theory on best ways to run groups.  This gave a clear example of how well those techniques work. I really enjoyed it.
