This introductory course aims to navigate the key themes of an autistic client’s experience, the challenges and potential barriers when accessing services, and how those in supporting roles can help through neurodivergence-affirming understanding and strategies.

Supporting people who are experiencing abuse, or living with its long-term effects, requires a deep understanding of both the specific dynamics and the universal patterns of abuse and how it can affect a person’s ability to cope with a wide range of situations and relationships.

By exploring the pervasiveness and complexities of domestic abuse, this course will support you to recognise where and how you can support survivors on their road to recovery, which can be long and winding.
