The aim of this half day course is to take a forensic look at the processes and pitfalls relating to claims for Personal Independence Payment (PIP), and also to cover the Work Capability Assessment process (which governs access to Employment and Support Allowance/ Universal Credit for people who are too unwell to work).

Motivational Interviewing (MI) is an evidence-based approach with over 200 controlled trials to support its effectiveness.  It aims to guide clients in the process of changing many types of unhealthy behaviour and lifestyle choices.

This practical two-day course aims to equip you with the knowledge, skills and tools required to effectively apply Motivational Interviewing in your work practice, enabling you to better support and empower your clients to make positive behavioural change.
